back in action 25 march 08

so last week i was real sick and the broadcast was basically just bits and pieces of stuff that i borrowed from others. but this week we're back in action.

on today's show i've invited cycling enthusiast Al Barbour on to talk about the local scene and beyond. we're going to get a report about the alleycat that happened this weekend, talk a bit about the halifax cycling coalition and talk about plans and strategies for this year in halifax to get bikes noticed.
I am also going to give a report about the 4 week women's bike repair course i have been teaching on saturdays in march, and talk a little about where that project is going to grow.

the photo below is from a HFX CM in 2007. just to add a little visual stimulation to your day!
tune in for audio accompaniment!

circle A cycles

this week on pedal driven i'm playing an interview i did with chris from circle a cycles in providence RI. i really enjoyed talking to him about bikes, the anarchist worker-owned coop shop he works at, frame building, building choppers with youth and other interesting happenings from the providence scene. tune in this tuesday for more about circle A and what chris had to say about providence, bikes, and circle A cycles.

spinning tunes...

this week on pedal driven i'll be doing the show with my "mentee". I am participating in the youth radio mentorship program here at the station, and this week Daniel and I will be talking about music and bikes: music that makes us want to ride bikes, music that reminds us about bike rides, anything that we feel connects music and bikes. tune in and request a favourite song or email me to send along some suggestions.
